What does the term FM mean?
FM is the abbreviation for ultra-short wave. FM are electromagnetic waves in a frequency between 87.6 and 107.9 MHz. In English, the term very high frequency is also used. The signals are transmitted analogue with the help of frequency modulation. Therefore, the abbreviation FM is often equated with VHF.
